Thank you everyone! I’m keeping the faith in the ladies that they’ll figure it out! I have put more egg shaped items in the nest boxes. I’m happy to hear that some of you experienced the same thing!
Hey all! I finally got an egg a day for the last 4 days... but it seems it’s only one of my hens? I have 11 hens and was just wondering how I could maybe get my other hens to start laying? I want to add that they are about 6 months old. My other problem is they’re not laying in the nesting box...
It happened! One of my hens started laying!!! The eggs are small? And I’ve gotten two the first day, one the next and one today! She completely ignores the nesting boxes though and has seemed to make a nest of her own in the little spot where you see the two eggs. Any suggestions? I put ping...
Ah, i see. Hes actually the youngest out of the bunch! We plan on taking care of the problem or two is too much. Is there any recommendations you have for Helping along my egg layers? They should be about 23 weeksish.
Hey all, so my hens have not started laying yet and I chocked it up to stress from too many roosters and killed off two roosters (humanely). Well Ive noticed lately that my silkie rooster, who is also most defensive with predators, will literally get on top of the hens and pretty much peck at...
Two cockerel silkies and one pullet?

So it’s decided. Will keep him because he’s my favorite. Originally his name was queen but will rename him. This means we will for sure have two roosters.
In the picture posted, the two directly to the left of the stump are two of my favorite cockerels! They’re sweet and love to be pet... however where I live it’s required to keep a more aggressive rooster due to predictors.
Just pecking around ! They love to sit and just relax in from of the screen door as it’s much cooler because of the type of dirt/sand there. I’ve noticed that one of my silkies is definitely a cockerel... I’ve also noticed I think only one of my EE are. I have about 6-8 roo’s and will only be...
We have one who just does not want to come out, a cockerel I believe. Also heard one of them attempting to give a sad crow yesterday, it was so wimpy haha.
