From people who have them, they are all saying 4-4.5 months vs other chickens who lay at 5.5-6.5 months.

Need help IDIng the breed of these guys.

I didn't notice the leg fluff on #3 so I agree probly cochin, #4 has foot feathers so cant be a wyandotte. I'm thinking they came out of a mixed bantam tub hence my guesses of mostly bantam breeds.

    Lavender pekin chicks

Being a bantam I'm guessing you have to wait. You could try wing sexing at 1 week old but its not very accurate.

I need help identifying these baby ducks!

I would guess khaki campbell and pekin. Cayuga are more black/grey?

GF has actually imported at least 3 different times birds from different gene pools. So if your stock is ordered direct from GF your gene diversity should be much improved from anything bought pre-2017 including buying chicks/pullets/etc from other hatcheries and breeders, if they have not...

    Lets talk about goats!

i wouldnt worry to awfully much kids are pretty resilliant and amazing little things. We had two nigerian girls that mom rejected after 2 days. They came in the house hypothermic and head lolling(not far from death for most animals)...3 hrs later they had found the springs in their back legs and...

    Rabbits!

Thats pretty much what i was saying. They dont live in "families." The worse damage we have ever had was some blood on their fur along their backs from being bitten. In 3 yrs of having the warren we have never saw any other damage while/post fighting. Ears, noses, testicles, etc all fine. Maybe...

    Newborn Goat pneumonia treatment. URGENT

We tried feeding measured amounts but it made no difference. When you have 23 kids that are bottle kids you stop measuring, after all mom goat doesnt measure how much kids get. When the kids wake up in the morning and mom is tanked up with almost a gallon of milk they stop themselves when they...

    Rabbits!

Well considering we had 37 adult and juvenile rabbits and their young kits in a 1/4 acre warren with very minimal problems i think it is likely a smaller issue then you think it is. I have also never seen a rabbit bite another rabbits nose off whether in double gang cages or running loose in a...

    mixing goats

The best milk breeds we have in our barn have shown to be saanen, alpine and toggenburg with our alpine girls giving less volume then the other two. However keep in mind milk volume and length of production are related to their bloodlines. Some does can milk for a full year before needing to be...

    Newborn Goat pneumonia treatment. URGENT

We dislike milk replacer be it "nurseall" or a goat specific one but we keep a bag in the freezer just in case, we also keep a bag of colostrum powder just in case. However we save and freeze all the goat colostrum(liquid) we can get in case we need it. We have had kids born where mom just has...

    Rabbits!

That would make no sense for people who want to use them for meat!! We breed our rabbits and grow out the kits to be eatten, replacing the parents as we breed better stock. We also had in the past and are rebullding a rabbit warren for our rabbits to continue to free range but in a smaller...
