One of my future projects I am working on, I have 5 of them so I will be breeding them out to see what color chicks they throw. They are the black ones with brown and white, the others are WLR crosses that will most likely be used in another project The mahogany chicks are Buckeyes.
I believe it was early May and they would have been a week or so old, the Khaki Campbells never shut up so they are fairly easy to voice sex but these guys dont say much. I pick each of them up and they will make clucking type noises but never quack or make deep throaty sounds like the male...
I bought these this spring as hatchery choice ducks at Orschelns and am still not sure if they are boy or girl? I tried the voice sexing but they are not really vocal and if they are I cant tell
If you have your birds together in a cage and you sexed one and got a little foam it could have been that it was a hen that was just bred. If they are normal jumbos or brown wildtype then the breast of the male is gold and the hen has spots. I have about 15 baby jumbos and 10 adult breeder...
I went out and grabbed up some of my 3 week old Jumbo Browns to take some pics to help you out. I hope this helps, if you need more pictures let me know
Here is a male, as you can see he has a lack of spots on his chest and more gold coloring on the chest
And here is a female, you...

Its still young but guessing by the spots on the chest I am voting hen as well, the males I have pretty much have little or no spots on their chest from 2 weeks or as soon as the "fuzz" is all clear on their chests. Keep us updated
It would take a lot of work to clean it up from having chickens in it, you would be better off to build a rabbit hutch style enclosure out away from the shed, that way you start new and do not have to worry about bio-security issues. JMHO
Yeah I looked at the instructions again, on this thermostat the green is constant hot, the black is power supply when the thermostat is on, and the white is ground, you would think they would make it universal wiring colors so people do not hook them up backwards :( I hope it didnt hurt it...
I installed my GQF 3255 Thermostat yesterday and I had troubles with the wiring because my hatcher was homemade ( not by me ) and the wires were not color coded.
My old primary thermostat was a water heater thermostat and was crap for keeping temps, there were 5 to 8 degree swings so I ended...
I agree man, I have several chicks right now that are proof rescuing works, if you saw them you would never know that they could have been thrown out with the bad eggs, they are happy and healthy little chicks
