In Alaska we keep our chickens under a light 14 hours a day to keep them laying. If they only lay during the summer months they will lay for more years. Is this true of the Coturnix Quail too? I am not sure that I want to light them all winter......

I asked a similar question before and people replied that they light 14-16 hours a day, in the winter if you want to give your quail a break that is ok too, you just need to expect them to let off of laying some or completely. It allows the birds to take a break and lets their bodies focus on staying warm vs laying.
