Hey BYC'rs! I have 9 chicks of different breeds that were hatched on October 5th. All are doing great. But one is looking mighty ugly. It is a black sexlink and she has bare skin all around her neck, and bare skin on her back where her wings rest. She has looked like this since day one...

I will try to post a couple of pics of my 2, Daphne and Sugar Plum. Daphne is friendly and will hang around your feet, but Sugar Plum is a lap hen...lol And an affection hog...lol But I love them!

Hey fellow BYC'rs! I found a child's playhouse on Craigslist and naturally saw it as my future coop.. It has thermal windows and siding. My gals are in it now and laying great. Thought I would share some pics and see if you had any suggestions to make it better. Thanks for all input!

Food and water outside only IMO. When they are in the coop at night they can't see anyway and are sleeping. Keeps the mess down also...no spills, etc. Lonely rooster? I am not allowed to have them where I live, but my guess is no. He wouldn't be lonely. Pet or dinner?....hmmm, my hubby...

Her crop is still hard this morning, so I am going to buy some mineral oil like it says in the link that was posted and try that. They got a lot of greens, grapes, and even a pork chop a few days ago and they are maybe not used to that and it caused the impaction. Wish me luck and I will keep...
