  • Great your babies are doing well outside! My babies are only a month old and are still on heat at night in their brooder in another building, (so as not to disturb the adult flock at night) and at 6 weeks will then sleep in the coop with the flock in their own quarters. They have already been out in the run in their own enclosure and they love it! The big flock is pretty indifferent, curious, but don't mind them in there. The babies will stay in this enclosure during the day til they are about 3 or more months old. This should be enough time for everybody to get along....I hope! :-) How and when are you going to mix your babies in?
Nugget has been good too. Whenever I open the coop door the is ALWAYS the first one to get out. :D She thinks she's a dog or something. XD
Yes, I need to do this too. I bought one of those screens with the magnets?? "As seen on TV"...LOL I haven't used it yet. I also have some puppy gates I can divide the coop from the run. I don't have a pop door for the chickens. Just a large door from coop to run. How are your babies doing in the coop today?
Thanks! :) I 'm just finishing up school and stuff like that. How have you been? I like your profile pic a lot too!
I worry all night like a nervous momma. LOL. They were scared this morning when I looked in on them, but got really happy after seeing me. Do you have yours out in the run today? Just got mine out. :-)
Good morning!! Great that your babies did great last night! Scary to let them sleep outside that first night. I got mine out as well into their brooder in a building outside. They were terrified! LOL But they lived thru it. I am not sure I did though. LOL Oh, one of my babies injured herself somehow and I have vet wrap on her leg!! She is missing 2 scales and was bleeding!! OMG my poor baby. I feel like a bad momma. I have no idea how this happened. Was 2 days ago I think when I had them out under the trees. My poor baby!
