My babies are trained also. All I have to do is open the porch door and they come running. They follow me all around the yard. I keep this old broom with me to keep them from tripping me up because they gather around my feet and move when I move. I have them on a schedule when I let them out...
Thanks to all who gave advice on how to save my little roo. He died on Saturday. He was the character of the backyard bunch. No one could enter my backyard safely unless I was with them. He would peck on the back door when he wanted my attention and/or jump on the table to look onto the back...
My little rooster is not feeling well. I tried to upload a picture of him but it didn't work. He hasn't crowed in five days. He is walking around very slow and is sitting in the hen's nest. He is picking at his corn but will only eat bread, however, he is drinking water. He rarely lets me...

Too funny, yesterday am, my husband was in the backyard and our "mean as a snake" rooster had him pinned against the porch. My hubby was yelling for me to come, I gave him the broom to keep the rooster off of him. No one can go in the backyard without me.
My roosters will not stop crowing. They crow at any loud noise, when someone enters the backyard, when they want to eat, when they want me to come on the backporch, yes they are spoiled. They all stand at the back door and look in for me and crow. I have 2 roosters (by mistake) and 8 hens...
We have 2 roosters, the dominant started 2 months ago and the other just 2 weeks ago. The dominant is MEAN and tries to attack everyone including my husband. I have to go out before anyone goes in the backyard, once he sees me near them he chills out. I thought they would fight but they...
I got abig suprise today. My fat aracana laid a 3-inch long, 6-inch round egg today. They all lay large eggs but this was the biggest since they started laying in July.
My chicks/roosters love the rain. If its drizzly they wonder around. But if it pours they gone into their coop and watch until it eases. It is so funny. Their floor is dirt and they burrow big holes, I just scoop the dirt back in.
We got our first egg on July 20, 08, and one a day for 2 weeks. Now they are laying 4 a day and most of them are double yokes.
I have 8 hens and 2 roosters.
What is funny is that one hen will sit on the nest and the others will stand or sit beside her and lay and she will take her beak and...
My smaller (whatever he is) rooster crows 24/7. He alerts me when someone or something is in the backyard, including my husband. We have a white leghorn and have had them since April 08 but he has not started crowing and recently started clucking.
I guess the smaller rooster is crowing...
