One of my 3 baby chicks (all about 3 months old, living with mum and dad) appears 2 b seperating herself from the others...she sits on her own in the garden and seems very timid wen i approach her..the others seem 2 avoid her,but do protect her if i get too close...wats rong with her??please help!!
it was quite hot today..she just looks really distressed..we dont get snakes in this part of england, so i dont think its that..and i cant see any mice or rats!the roo was making barking type noises he makes when he gets scared..but has now stopped...its very confusing..it cant be bird flu can...
My hen ande her chicks are in their indoor coop..in the last couple of hours the hen seems to hav become distressed..she keeps her beek open and makes a weezing type sound...they have been in there for abou 2 weeks now we i dnt thinks shes distressed about the environment...could she be wanting...
i tried that a little while ago,but she continued to make the noises when she was there:S however, she did seem to enjoy walking around, and the roo was very gd with the chicks...thank u for your advice!

After much anticipation my hens efforts were a success!!Two beautiful dwarf chicks hatched yesterday, and another hatched this morning...after a shady start with the new arrival she let it under her and now things seem well!!
I was just wondering..can i touch the chicks or is it best to leav her...
hiya,my chicken did get broody as every1 predicted:) she has been sitting on her eggs for about 1.5 weeks..the rooster is lonely but tough luck to him!i was wondering if its ok for him to be with the hen and chicks once they've hatched?or should i keep him away?
