I hit the motherload of free stuff this year: a gentleman tilled my garden for free, a free truckload of manure, free leaves for mulching and rows, 8 free thornless blackberry bushes, 2 free blueberry bushes, free tomato plants, free materials to make my compost barrel set up, free concrete...
As people are out of work and unemployment benefits begin to run out, I think we are going to see more of this.... some scammers will be out but there will also be people who are in real need and the only thing that is greater than their pride will be their need to feed their children. I think...
I would stop bailing out and micro-managing everything. There is a reason banks and businesses fail and they will either 1. learn from their mistakes and be better at business because of it or 2. get out of the way for a better business to take its' place.
I second the fair tax. We spend an...
Ok... DH went to Lowes and got the adapter and it now works BUT how do I adjust it, how far do I fill the ball thing underneath... basically, how do I set it up to work. There were no instructions with it and I don't know what I am doing. Thanks so much.
We have 12 chicks that are 4 1/2 weeks old and the smell was getting bad last week so we moved them out of the smaller cage. We got a fridge box and put it on its' side and cut the top out. It is big enough for their food and water and roaming room and a roost on the other end. It has pine...
So, what is the last possible day I should give them? I want to give them as much time as possible but I don't want to run the risk of them rotting or bursting in the incubator. Three of the five are RIR and the rest have been Dominique's. The RIR were very hard to candle because the shells...
It is Day 22. Out of 12 eggs, one had a blood ring and never formed and another never formed and was culled at 14 days. Five have hatched already. The other five have done nothing... no pips, zips, nothing. How long should I give them before I open them up? I tried to candle last night...
Can I add a question to this??? If you use a Cornish, can you also fry them, boil for chicken pie, etc or is another type of bird better for that? I guess what I'm asking is are they multipurpose as far as recipes go or typically a leave whole and roast bird? Thanks so much.
Update... My son won 3rd place for his class. Two chicks hatched today... one at the science fair so we had one with a bloodring, one that did not form... both of these were culled at day 14, 5 have hatched and are chirping as we speak. 5 have not done anything. We are on day 21.
I bought a waterer off of Craigslist that looks like this...

The person I bought from said you can attach it to a 5 gallon bucket but... I have no idea how to do that and what parts I need to make that work. Any help would be appreciated.
