I was so worried it would end up a hen, even after they lady at the store told us, "here's your big boy roo" :(
Phil was making all kind of noises at me, so maybe she'll just be a noisy girl.
It has been some time, and I hope easier to tell for sure if Phil is a roo or a hen. I am still holding out hope that Phil is a boy.
Phil was born a few days before Easter and these pics were taken today.
Sorry about pic two being a bit darker, Chickie does not like having his pic...
I am 2 hours from DFW as well. I still have babies that can't be out on their own yet, so swaps are a ways off for me, but once my babies start to lay, you bet!
Thanks! I am rather new to chickens and I can't wait to see what they will look like when they get older. I do have some of the fancies, so I can kinda tell on those, and to be honest, I was wanting a Rhode Island Red. :) But the Gold Sex link ones look cute too.
We are really hoping it is a roo, considering we have named him Phil after the dancing chick on Hop because that is how he looked when he was a baby.
Any clues what breed he is? Or even if it is a he?
Any help would be awsome... thanks!!!
We got him at a day old from Atwoods a few days...

One I found was awsome. (It's in the children's section tho.)

Welcome, I'm a newbie too, my chicks are younger than yours.... but I found the egg comment funny. I was making cornbread for my hubby to take to a potluck tonight, and had only two eggs in the carton. I thought to myself as I used the last egg, "I can't wait until my chickies start laying...
I am very new to chickens. I've ate several, but never really touched a chicken before. I have had people give me fresh farm eggs.
I have always lived in the city, until a few years ago. The property is a little strange. The front yard is in the city limits (of a very small town) and the...
