HI All my name is Bj. I live outside of a tiny little place called Jonestown Pa, home of like 10 houses. With our nearest neighbors being a farm field away. You know the type of place the ones where you have to drive atleast 30 minutes to get to a post office or anything else for that matter...
we used farm and home barn paint, unfortunately you have two color choices red or white. But it works great, goes on like stain covers like paint and seals wonderfully.
Great find! I am so happy to hear that others get as happy as I do at finding free lumber or other goodies to use around the farm most of our friends look at me like I need a trip to the looney bin when I tell them about my finds and they see how excited I get.

Ours is out of 4'x14' oak pallets, but we covered it inside and out with osb that we painted with barn paint to protect it. This gave us an air barrer for insulation (my hubby does hvac so he was a little nuts about.) Pretty much we used the pallets for the framing.
okay so home depot has ceramic heaters on sale for $20 every tells me they are really cheap to run but wont heat a large space so here was my thought. Would one work in my coop to keep the waterer from freezing and the girls happy this winter. I need to look into them a little more and see if...
