Just Making Sure This New Feed Idea Is Okay.

That seems unbelievably expensive. I use a layer pellet from pulin that cost 13.99 up here. It recently increased in price was 11.99 and have no problems with it. Not really sure what your question was. And was told it had everything they need. Then i feed them what ever treats and scraps on hand.

    Just need to vent

While I was out a dog came in the yard and got My polish crested rooster and came back after my easter egger. Not to mention one of My easter eggers died friday night for no apparent reason. Anyway I pull in the drive way and my wife is frantic trying to get all the chickens back in the coup and...

what you find in a chicken coup.

Back in July I was in the garden and heard a faint meow. I looked around and found a kitten at the side of the yard in the bushes. I tried to get close and it wasn't having any part of me. So I finshed up and went in. Later on I went out to close up the coup and there was the kitten sitting in...

Polish crested rooster with a hump

I noticed yesterday that He was walking crooked. I then realized He has a mass of some type on the right side of his chestbone. has anyone had issues like this? I felt it and it seems hard all most like he has meat on the bone on oneside and not on the other.

    Food Storage???

I've been using storage containers That I got at Walmart that have locking handles on both ends. I keep them in the garage and have used them for 2 years for bird seed and rabbit food and now my chicken feed. I have seen mouse droppings on them but never in them and have never had moth or bug...

    Spraying for insects

I like the bat in the belfry Idea. But I've got to many to many there all ready. Or so I'm told. But I also think I heard bat droppings are good fertilizer. I'm not sure if that's true. I do know they eat 1000's of maskitos a night.

How long does Chick Starter last?

I would think it's like anything else in a bag. After a short while it prodably goes stail (stale) ????. Like potato chips do. I don't think it will go bad before you use it up unless you actually see mold or something. I keep mine in storage containers that have secured lids, from walmart. I...

Hen lays in the feeder - suggestions?

If the eggs aren't getting damaged I don't see any harm in it laying an egg on the top.

I lost two chickens today :*(

so sorry. I also lost a white rock and a 6 year old rabbit today. Put up a big tarp over the run tonight. Can only hope it will be enough to keep them safe tomorrow. guess It's really bothering me, because I take good care of my animals and now I'm sitting up at 2:15 am posting this.

    Sand question

I would just toss or pile it up in the run. if they want it they will use it. If not no big deal. I put a sand pit in my run figuring they would use it as a sand bath----nope they like the dirt under the ramp into the house instead.
