Zipped some of the shell last night. Membrane was dry. Moistened it with an eye dropper and wrapped it in a warm wet paper towel. This morning it still hadn't broken out of the membrane. Things were not looking great, so decided to remove the remainder of the shell and the membrane...
Our eggs were due to hatch on Saturday. We had 2 hatch then, one overnight Saturday/Sunday then nothing all day yesterday. This morning noticed one more egg that has the hole in it. Went to work thinking we would come home to another little baby ...but no ....Hole in egg is only slightly...
Out of the 5 Cochin eggs that were set, 3 hatched to cute live little chickies !!!
Not too bad for the first 5 eggs these hens ever laid to have 4 out of 5 fertilized

Was able to borrow another incubator, but have been told this one is hard to get the humidity up. Which set of eggs would be better in that one...
Cheapest incubator around here is about $150 which is why we borrowed one to see what was going to happen before we invested in one.
