I DO know J3172, and as a current senior of Fisheries and Wildlife, studying avian biology at a major university, I can say that his birds are kept in the highest quality of conditions and his birds are happier than most captive galloanseres.
I can also say that my OWN personal birds are very...
So, I have had GREAT success with my babies! I tried to post pics lat week, but they didn't work... I think they're working now, however!
Any guesses on what I've got at this point? They hatched maybe 3 1/2 weeks ago and I LOVE them!

So, my button quail are growing (I haven't lost any of my 15 babies! yay!) and they're like 2 1/2 weeks old.
They're getting their colors right now and I've decided to keep 3 or 4 pair of them (separately, of course), but I'm having trouble determining which are boys and which are girls...

I've never RAISED...

Thanks for the links, by the way! They'll be useful!

A few...
you can still often confirm lead poisoning after freezing the carcass. Simply unfreeze and look for lead pellets/sinkers in the crop of the bird. Doesn't sound like lead poisoning to me, though. That's just my 2 cents though:D
