    Drooling in Kill Cone

    We just processed 20 meaties today and almost all of them drooled. We didn't feed them for 24 hours before so water was all they had in their system. Their craw's were completely empty. Coolers full of fresh birds!

    Will chickens eat 'dirty' food?

    I've swept up the chick starter that falls through the mesh and put it back in the feeder the next day. They ate it just fine. They can be so wasteful it's a shame not to.

    Can chickens share living quarters with goats?

    We found one of our goats wearing the chicken feeder around her neck one day so, we had to build a maze in the chicken coop so the chickens could get in but the goats couldn't. The chicks were a little confused at first but they figured it out.

    We have three 11 day old turkeys in a tank that has a reptile heater under it, we started turning off the light three days ago. They seem to be doing just fine and we can sleep now.

    I think it's only one hen as we regularly get one egg per day from each hen and never multiples of the wrinkle eggs. We feed them layer and scratch grains not adding any oyster shell. They free range all day. If it is the infectious bronchitis do I need to isolate that hen? I see chicken...

    My hens have been laying for at least 7 months. The kinks should be out by now.

    Does anyone know what causes eggs to look all wrinkly like these? We get a couple of these a week. Sometimes its not as pronounced as these. Nothing unusual inside.

    Look what I got today!

    I got one like that a couple of weeks ago, but mine had a small yolk and white inside just like a mini version of a real egg. We ate it.

    Fertile Eggs???

    I'm pretty sure all the eggs we eat are fertile. We put 16 eggs in the incubator a month ago and we now have 15 little fuzz butts running around. They all taste the same.

    Does 4 eggs per day from 8 hens sound right?

    I must be very lucky I'm getting 11 - 12 eggs per day from 14 barred rock hens.
