    Chicken wheezing

thanks for the reply I have looked up the Doxy I am only seeing things for pet birds and it says not to used on birds meant for human consumption of their meat or eggs. I am in Oklahoma is there any recommendations of where to order/buy either enrofloaxin or Doxy? Next can you still consume...

    Chicken wheezing

She’s is 7 months old. No nasal or eye discharge. Crop empties every night. No fluid she’s not as thick as some of the other barred rocks we have but she also gets picked on. No gasping or crackling either just a wheeze and occasional sneeze.

    Chicken wheezing

Hello, I have a hen who wheezes pretty frequently. I’ve used vetrx to help her out. When it first started she sounded hoarse and I separated her for about a week but after putting vetrx on her that night she sounded fine and the next day she wasn’t really wheezing anymore. The wheezing seems to...

    Limping chicken

Thanks she’s back to just standing on one foot. Poor thing. She’s such a sweet gal. They mainly roam when we are home and it’s not a huge property so we are going to get rid of our cockerel he’s aggressive with them and our children and he’s now coming at me. I may try and get another one that...

    Limping chicken

She is the barred rock. I took her out and put her in the run with just one other hen who was laying. She went in and laid an egg and wouldn’t walk a ton. She was putting weight on the foot. I let her out in the yard so that she would move more. You can see in the video she is hobbling...

    Limping chicken

I have a 5 month old hen who I noticed limping this evening that wasn’t this morning. I don’t see any wounds. Our rooster who is about to leave is kind of rough. Idk if she landed funny or if he was too aggressive with her. But I’ve isolated her in a dog kennel in the garage with a fan and food...

Roo or pullet 16 week olive egger

Ok I hope so! I really like her but those tail feathers started getting long and droopy. My other olive egger doesn’t look like her at all so I can’t really compare the two at all.

Roo or pullet 16 week olive egger

Hello, My chickens are all about 16 weeks. I have a leghorn who started getting his comb and all the other characteristics very early on. By 6 weeks he had a very red comb and he know looks and acts like a full blown rooster. I was fairly positive that the rest were all pullets but I am starting...

    What is this

I have no idea what the mottled looking chicken is but it appears to be a pullet. The one that has the larger wattles and comb is a cockerel it does look like a barred rock.

    New Chick Mom

I ended up doing a round of Corid and she perked up! She’s even gained weight. She’s still timid around the other chickens. I figured out one is a male for sure and they all kind of pick on her. They are 5 weeks now.

    New Chick Mom

Thanks. I’ve def seen decal poops but one for sure was having foamy yellow poop and then another started. I did Corid and did a drench for 3 days on the one that I noticed first bc she is always hunched and looks sad. Everyone else’s poops are back to normal but hers are still not. Idk what else...

Darn that’s really unfortunate he won’t be able to stay with us.

White leghorn is it a cockerel?

I have two white leghorns amongst 6 other chicks mixed breeds. One leghorn is quite bigger than the others and is starting to show features that look like it may be a cockerel. It should be a pullet as a I purchased specifically pullets but I know sexing isn’t always 100 percent. When I look at...

    Treating for Respitory and Cocci

Hi eggcessive I know this is an old post but just out of curiosity why do you jot do vitamins and Corid at the same time? I treated my chicks for possible coccidiosis and they didn’t seem to improve. I had one that was hunching over but now I have 3 I wonder if the electrolytes I used had...
