They were full size when I got them so I assumed they were at least 2 months. I shouldn't be so impatient, I was just hoping they would have a few good weeks before winter to lay. I guess I'll have to wait. Crazy Ladies.
Hey all,
I've been raising chickens for decades and have never seen this before. I recently moved to small town and took my small coop with me. I finally got it up and running. I grabbed 2 full sized birds in June. Neither are laying. It's been almost 5 months. They came from a farm in a...
Two weeks ago I got my baby chicks. They're all doing fine except one. He can't walk and is really fat and his body is hard. I'm not sure what to do. Should I put him out of his misery or is this common? I don't want to kill him, but I hate the thought of him living a life of agony. Is it...
Ok, so here's what I've got...
I have 10 chicks that are almost 2 months old. I have no desire to keep the roosters, and i'm finally beginning to be able to sex them. here's the questions. I would like to eat the roosters. Should I separate the roosters and feed them a meat feed? or should...
I just have a quick questions. My neighbor had a small flock of 6, we let 2 go broody and I got 10 chicks. The 2 mommies and the babies have been living in my coop for quite some time, I would like to add a few more to the mix but it's time for mommies to go home. The question I have is, can...
That's what I thought I should do. The birds from the first batch are 17 days old, and the other batch is about 14 days old.

I have my coop built, finally. my neighbor had two hens go broody at the same time. one batch hatched with 6, and a week later the other group hatched 4. I have them in my coop separated. the mothers whom have lived together want to kill each other. Most likely because...
We have 4 new baby chicks (1-2 days old) and 8 baby chicks (6 days old) with their mommas in separate quarters. The mommas have been together in the same coop since birth. Can all the mommas and babies be put together in the same coop now, or should we wait a certain amount of time?
