    Thanks for the replies. It made it through the night but it still doesn't look so great. It's having difficulty walking and eating and drinking by itself. The wound is really too noticable to put out with mom so I guess we'll just keep it in the house and see how it does.

    From what I understand the oils in the cedar chips can irritate the lungs of various animals when used in a confined space (such as a chicken coop). I don't think there would be any danger of this happening outside in your yard.
