We have 4 Easter Eggers and 2 Silkies that share a coop. We think one of them has respiratory problems. We are treating all of the birds with Vet RX as well as a mixture of garlic, thyme, oregano, and honey in water. We are also giving them watermelon :) But we have the suspected sick Egger...

We bought a used chicken tractor from somebody. I've wiped it down with bleach twice and power washed it but it still smells. Is it safe for the chickens or is it beyond hope?

Sorry, I have no advice but I'm on here from Georgia as well and our chickens have mites. I was about to buy Elector PSP but I'll wait and see what people say.

Thanks! Such a simple solution :) I did keep it covering part of the run, but pulled it way from the coop.

Soooo.... I think after building the coop and run, the tarp was more of an afterthought. I screwed it to the roof and pulled it as tight as I could, then screwed it to the run all around. But, the rain came, water pooled up in the tarp, the screws pulled away from the roof, and now everything is...

We've only had them in the run for a couple weeks. It is 6 ft tall and 80% covered with a tarp, so it doesn't get wet, but it does seem like a good ground covering would be good.

How often do you add the lime?

I scare myself. This is like having kids all over again! I am amazed my wife and I have kept these things alive and that they're actually starting to lay eggs!
