I went out side and watched them and it appears that only 2 of the other hens are attacking her. The other two are leaving her alone. Does that mean anything?
Hello! Really worried about my chickens. I have 5 total chickens. The oldest one (by 4 months) who has been the "head" chicken as recently been targeted by my other chickens. She does not appear to be sick, bleeding etc. She has been escaping the chicken run b/c the are outright attacking her...
With a VERY heavy heart we need to re-home our beloved roosters. We bought 12 "hens" and 2 of them turned out to be roosters and we aren't allowed to have them in our City. They are very friendly (obviously my three year old can hold them)...and these two roosters are best buds and sleep in the...
Hello!
We bought 4 Cuckoo Maran's and one of them looks NOTHING like the other three. I have a feeling it's not the aforementioned breed. They are about 8-10 weeks old. I thought maybe it was a Golden Cuckoo Maran--but I'm thinking no. Can someone please help identify and also if you know the...
I'm super bummed. These two have been suspect for a very long time. They puff out their neck feathers constantly and don't have a elegant "Peep"..It's like a "squawk". While I really want to keep them as I'm very fond of them--we aren't allowed to have them where we live. At what point to they...
Hey Everyone--I've started a couple of threads before but they might've been too young. Can anyone tell me what they think of these two? They haven't started cockadoodle doo'ing yet, however they have very different personalities than my 100% for sure hens. They sure are beautiful!
OH my gosh--the roo looks just like our Ruby! I showed my husband this pic and he thought it was our bird. I'm so worried because Ruby is my favorite and we aren't allowed to have Roo's in city limits. Sigh...Thank you for sharing. I'll wait a few more weeks and post more pics/updates. Thank you!
Well I took these two to the Farm store I purchased them from. They informed me that if they are roosters, they will take them in and find new homes for them. I guess there is a big demand for them. When I brought them in they said that they were hens! I was really surprised! So they are back...
Thanks so much for the post. I'm definitely learning and would love to know why you think the red and white is definitely a boy and why you think the b & w has a shot at being a girl ;). Any advice would be MOST appreciated! **my husband is laughing at me because I'm Praying my black and white...
I don't know why--but my husband and I both have the hardest time trying to see if they are more pointy than the other hens. Maybe it's denial because I'm so attached to the black and white one. :-/ I don't see a 3 pea comb on the Black and White, however I can see it on the white one with red...
