Trouble with a Violently Broody Buff

Yeah I read all through that thread, and watched videos and all sorts of stuff, but no one seemed to have one as violent as she's being! She'd been setting for a few weeks now, and I'd only just moved her (sitting in the nest box she'd been in, mine are detachable) so I wish I'd known all that...

Trouble with a Violently Broody Buff

Hullo! My buff orp has been broody for the past few weeks. I thought it was cute, and that she'd figure her way out of it. However, when she left for food & water today, i checked her nest and she was sitting on 11 (unfertilized) eggs! I thought maybe I'd get her some chicks to help a girl...

    Duck Pond Depth

I'm trying to figure out how deep of a stock tank/pool to buy for my ducks. I heard to get a shallow one so they can get in and out, but I wanted them to be able to swim, not just run around in a kiddie pool. They are separated from the chickens, so I'm not worried about chickens drowning. If I...

    Ducks in the coop?

Thanks everyone! I feel like I should clarify here, however--no one's free range yet. They're all still in their (roomy) run, as they're still adolescents, so they are secure in a way--I've tried to make the run as predator-proof as possible. My question was more towards duck nature: do they...

    Ducks in the coop?

Do ducks need to be cooped at night like chickens? In the evening my chickens make for the coop, but the ducks are too silly to go in there. I keep chasing them and putting them in there, but I wasn't sure if it's necessary. Will they learn?

    Drowning chickens?

Thanks for your feedback! I have been wanting a separate duck pen, but I wasn't sure if it was necessary, but I know as everyone grows up and the flock expands I'll need another space. I wanted to make sure the chickens weren't in danger until then.

    Drowning chickens?

My ducks & chickens share a coop & run. They're fairly young still so space isn't the issue. I want to keep a small pool for the two ducks, but I've heard chickens will drown themselves. The gentleman I bought everyone from has all sorts of birds together, with several stock tanks used as ponds...
