What breed and/or gender is this chick?

I have a match to that one! Not sure about the comb on mine but your's is definitely a rose comb. So far none of mine have crowed but several of them like to chest thump each other. BTW you did an awesome job tonight. I don't know if you could hear her, but everytime you came on stage...

    Olive Egger Roos

I have 4 Olive Egger Roos (Marans x Ameraucana) who hatched out Jan 1, 2012. They have started to crow and have to go. I would rather they avoid the soup pot if possible. I am located in SW Ontario (45 minutes from London and 45 minutes from Waterloo)

    Drunk chicken???

She is still alive, eating and drinking but has not flown to the roosting bar nor has she laid another egg. She is walking more upright (I think) but she is still wobbly and her wings and tail are still pointed down.

    Appropriate slope/pitch for plank

We are putting the finishing touches on our new chicken coop and the chicken door is approximately 30 inches off the ground. What is the appropriate pitch or slope for ease on entering/exiting? Thanks in advance

    Merek's Vaccination?

What are the symptoms to look for? I got 2 bantam seabrights 2 weeks ago. The first one laid an egg right away and then followed a 3 days of rest, 1 egg pattern. The other one laid her first egg 48 hours ago and she has been limping, not flying and stumbling ever since. Her feet are also cold...

The other pullet laid her first egg with me and it took a long time (several hours) and since she has laid it...

    What's going on here?

Yes they are and luckily Easter has been in her own coop for the whole winter....just put her in with the sex linked last week...so I guess they all will get vaseline.

    What's going on here?

Thanks! I will get the vaseline out tomorrow morning. The bedding has already been changed so at least that is covered. The other chickens don't have anything remotely close to that on their feet. Their feet look great. Her feet have looked like that for quite awhile (poor thing!).

    What's going on here?

My oldest chicken (Easter) has funny looking feet. They appear dry and cracked but she isn't limping or anything. Any ideas what this is or if it warrants any action on my part? Her winter bedding was pine shavings and she had just moved to the outside coop. We are having crazy hot weather in...
