No, the incubator is fully automatic. It turns the eggs very slowly. I *think* it's once every 6 hours, but not positive. Just make sure the stem of the turner is in the slot of the incubating tray. I have two of these running now and have been using them for a year. They work very well...
I bought a pair of frizzled Bantam Polish Chicks in July when they were about 4 - 6 weeks of age. One is doing great and the other I can't get any weight on. She is quite thin. She's been treated with Corid twice and dewormed with Wazine once. Going to treat with Wazine again this week. I...
I find that the ambient temp and humidity makes a big difference as to how much water to add. I like keeping my humidity between 30% - 40 % during the first 18 days for incubating. We had a lot of rain here in Oklahoma during my last incubation so the ambient humidity was up and I only rarely...
I generally wait until my pullets/hens have been laying steadily for a couple of weeks before incubating eggs from new layers. Assuming they have been living with a rooster. So far, the eggs have been fertile.
i've had mine running with eggs in it for the last week and a half. I candled the eggs at 7 days and there are live chicks. :)
I do have to adjust the temp down slightly on warmer days and back up to 38 when it's colder. The ambient temp here seems to make a big difference on the internal...
Thank you so much for the info! What do you keep your humidity at?
I set this one up yesterday just to run and get used to it. Running empty currently. I added 100 ml of water yesterday as instructed, but unless my hygrometer is way off, it's running around 69 - 70% humidity. Way too...
I just purchased a Janoel 12 incubator and the instructions are like Greek to me! Can't figure it out. Can anyone tell me if leaving the temp set at 38c works and how you figure out what the humidity is? I've pushed the button on top and all it gives me is temp.
Does everyone leave it at...
I am looking for a small bantam WC blue Polish hen or pullet. I'm in Oklahoma City, Ok anybody that has one available please message me here or email [email protected]. Thanks!
I am new to chickens (April this year) and my main interest now is in Bantam Polish. I have one group of 6 youngsters, pullets and cockerels, who are now 3 months old. I've had them for a little over a month and a half now.
A few days ago, I noticed the gold laced cockerel holding his tail...
Here is another picture of the white crested one. It's currently indoors and I'm having a hard time getting a decent picture! And another sideways picture. :( This chicken virtually has no wattles and no comb either.
