Happy thanksgiving to all of you! It is clear and really cold here. Water and feed was frozen, but everone is well. Today is also my birthday, it has already been great!
I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday!

So sorry MC, I understand the lonliness stinks. I did it for a long time (ex was a civilian contractor with the military in Iraq...after tours in other campaigns overseas). The hardest part is, most definitely, being the one that cares that you are not together. I don't know your situation, do...
Baby RIRs decided the sod clump was ok finally...and then started showing the cochin, SS, and Orloff babies just what to fo with it!
Lil bitties are lots more friendly and curious than bigger bitties. Maybe they will rub off.
Just picked up 40 5-day old heritage RIR! I was hoping they weren't just hatchery quality. This gentleman has had his birds featured in a few magazines. Big, beautiful dark red birds.
Got off late, attempted to get a few pics of the new crew...even new roo was out...but hubby decided to kidnap me and make a run to tsc. Apparently, he was planning to buy me an early bday present, lol. Too bad the incubator stock was depleted!
Hi all! Good to hear from everybody. ;-)
Wellllll, chicken math struck again....but this time it was my hubby! I was looking for some chicks to put with Big Red and Chicklet and a local guy said he had a few that were a little over a week old and we went to look at them there were 3 black and 1...
Still just one chick. The boys said they saw a 2nd one hatching last night and heard it peeping. But when Chicken Boy went down to do morning chores, baby was dead in the shell. Never made it much past the hole it first made. There was a large portion of shell gone with just membrane there...
Big Red's first chicklet. Chicken Boy was able to get a peek this morning when he fed the crew. Hopefully, we will have at least one more, maybe 2 by the time we get home today.
