    My one Polish mix is very skittish and not very friendly. She's not aggressive or anything just very stand offish.

    Can baby chicks be kept in a cage?

    I use an old baby play pen with newspaper on top of the pad and then wood shavings on that and paper towels on that for the first few days. I clipped the heat lamp right on the side of the play pen. It worked great.

    I had 8 eggs in the incubator and due to a bulb blowing I ended up with temps at 72 for an unknown length of time. Two eggs have hatched, the smaller ones, one about 38 hours ago and another about 26 hours ago. One egg might be rocking a little but I'm not sure. The others looked good when...

    What to use for bedding?

    I put paper towels on top of pine shavings. I can replace the paper towels as needed and less chips get in the water.
