Yes this is my first time raising chickens I never knew there was so much to it. This was the first time hatching babies as well my chickens are free range and that's why I didn't notice it at first. Now this baby has spent most of the day yesterday with me it has gotten attached and chirps like...
I couldn't keep the baby inside because I have a cat who would've ate him in the night but so far this morning the chick acts like a normal chick, running, playing, eating I hope it'll be ok.
I guess my main question is do I need to stop the chick from messing with it because I can keep it clean and isolated the chick but it's persistent about pecking at it. Over all the chick seems to be full of energy and is eating and drinking just fine.
I had a few chicks hatch out in the coop a couple days ago and I just noticed one has something wrong with it's belly I've came to the conclusion it didn't absorb it's yolk properly so I cleaned it up but how do I get the chick to leave it alone so it will heal?
