Belly buttonIt almost looks like a belly button, but I am probably wrong. Just a thought
Hello! It can sometimes take a while to absorb the yolk if it didn't fully absorb while in the egg. Generally, it's best to let that area dry on its own and to let it heal, possibly for over a week or more. In this case, you cleaned it, which could have caused irritation, especially if the opening was not fully closed.I had a few chicks hatch out in the coop a couple days ago and I just noticed one has something wrong with it's belly I've came to the conclusion it didn't absorb it's yolk properly so I cleaned it up but how do I get the chick to leave it alone so it will heal?
How it is doing outside? Is this your first time hatching chicks? Just make sure they are warm and have a heat source. Glad to hear it's doing better. I would just let it heal at this point and if you notice the chick cheeping a lot or acting lethargic, then there might be an issue. Keep us posted! : )I couldn't keep the baby inside because I have a cat who would've ate him in the night but so far this morning the chick acts like a normal chick, running, playing, eating I hope it'll be ok.
