  • Hi there! I’ve seen some of your posts and was wondering if you would like to do an article for The Poultry Life. It is free-lance, and the only requirement is that you make it Poultry related, and keep within the theme (Autumn, Halloween). Please get back to me as soon as you can.

    Best regards, Shabby Chic-Hens

    Ooh cool!
Id ask what it was about, but don’t want people to have any spoilers. Just make it be thanksgiving and end of autumn themed (the October edition just came out).
    Thank you!

Just to give a follow up on the VEVOR HONEY EXTRACTOR. Placed on a piece of scrap carpet, started spinning slowly and gradually increasing the speed did not get any unbalanced wobble or walking of the unit. For our small number of hives it worked out well We only extract medium deep supers.

Thank you! How many pounds of honey did you get?

Since this is our first year, we're leaving it all for the bees. I have a "bee guy" who has 9 hives, so I have a source for raw, local honey.

Roughly 98 lbs. Going to a 9 frame set up in the spring so bees can build out deeper cells to gain more yield. Where we are the fall honey has a nice smokey wood flavor with a little throat fire. This coming spring hoping for some Blueberry honey.

That honey sounds awesome! :drool My "bee guy" has 9 frames in his supers too, for just that reason.
