How to attatch a dolar charger to poultry netting for goats

Yes you are right, had to increase to .25 joules and only one length of netting. I called premier one and they said for 2 lengths would have to have. 50 joules. My issue was the lowest electrified wire was touching long grass, had to mow it really low and raise up the wires with some extra...

How to attatch a dolar charger to poultry netting for goats

I have an American farmworks 10 mile 0.15 joules solar charger and 2 rolls of premier 1 poultry netting, I have never used an electric fence setup before, how do I set this up. Will this work for Nigerian dwarf goats? I'm hoping to rotational graze them using the 2 fences in 2 different...

    Eggs were not auto turning

I'd leave them and see what happens. They are so resilient, we had a call duck hatch out of a batch of eggs a few years back and the incubator was foolishly set near a window and got up to 105 degrees or more (it was at 105 when we realized it) yet the little baby pulled through.

How long after external pipping should the chick hatch?

I have found that opening the incubator and working really doesnt tend to vaccuum wrap chicks as easily as I had once feared. Our technique has been when we open the incubator we put a warm wet paper towel in (on top of the screen) in case more moisture is needed. We frequently help chicks out...

cutest chick setup evah!! I love that people are buying chicks and planting gardens as a way to use their energies that could otherwise be negative right now. Great setup you have there. :D We have kept chickens for the last 10 years and are happy to have so many new people joining us in our...

Quick, need help with hatching goslings

Hi there, I need some help asap. Momma goose has been sitting and babies are hatching, 2 days ago one dead baby (appeared crushed) and 4 eggs. yesterday 2 dead babies (again both appear crushed) and 3 eggs. Today I went out and checked and she had 3 eggs, one almost hatched out and one pipped...

    Should I take her eggs?

Thanks! She actually kicked all of them out except 7-8, I went and cleaned them up today and got a peek at her nest (risked some serious goose anger to do so haha). So I'm hopeful that in June we will see some goslings!

HELP! My hen won’t eat and just sleep, looks very weak and won’t open her eyes

Just a thought, if she was attacked by a cat as you thought may have happened, perhaps that is the problem, I have rescued songbirds from cat attacks and never had one live more than a couple days, I suspect there is something about a cat bite that kills birds. But it's just a theory I have. I'm...

    Should I take her eggs?

Update: I didn't get out there to collect her eggs yet and yesterday she started sitting full time. She has pushed qute a few eggs out of her nest (I assume the old ones), and seems to be commited to sitting. For once I'm glad I procrastinated! Will know next month of she succeeds :)

    Worms? Cocci? Help!

That looks like a regular garden worm, any chance one could have gotten in your wood chips or something? Typically parasitic worms are smaller and stringier than that. We use diatomaceous earth (food grade) for ocassionally deworming of our birds. As far as the coccidiosis I know nothing about...
