I've got 8 birds, two for sure are Roos, but I'm not sure about the rest. I've only got one layer also, I'm still really new at this but I think it's pretty normal. Just like different people develop before others I'm sure hens are the same way :)

Heya I was wondering if there is anything wrong with me going in and checking my chickens around 12:30/1am? I work the night shift and don't get off until midnight so don't get home until after 12:30 and I was just wondering if it would be harmful to them to go peak and do my headcount at that...

haha I just did the math and they are about 19 weeks old so that would be about right that they are laying now! Time flies when you aren't counting the weeks I guess!

In the first pic you can sort of see that I've already started putting up some temp. siding of wood planks from the pallets. It's 2 by 3 pallets so about 8ft by 12ft then it is a little over 6ft tall. and the roof will slope down slightly, eventually we are planning on putting tin on the outside...

They don't like to sit still long enough for me to check them out. I can't believe how fast they are growing!! Any tips on getting them to relax around me? They eat off my hand but freak out if I don't have good! Lol
