    I have barred rocks that are 21 1/2 weeks and no eggs yet. They don't have full combs and wattles yet. Should I be concerned? They don't squat for me yet.

    Explain to them that chicken feed costs money, and how much it costs to get them to laying age, and the egg price from you is cheaper than "free range" eggs in the store. Also, a $1 deposit on the carton?

    Hi! My friend is building a coop/run and it's been so long since I built mine, I don't remember minimums for roost bar length/bird, coop sq ft of floor space/bird, ventilation sq inches/bird, and how many birds/nest box?!?!? THANX for your help!!

    Egg Laying From Roost Bar

    I've got a 7 month old that started laying during the night on the roost bar about 2 weeks ago. Driving me nuts. She was laying in the nest boxes quite awhile. I've thought about setting a light timer to come on before dawn. Thoughts?

    Original Recipe!!! Your coop is WAAYYYY too small for 8 birds! I don't care how much roost bar they're not using. How would you like to be in such tight quarters with other humans?!?!?
