because of a lack of flock raiser in my area I feed my 9 week old ducks and geese layer crumble and they love it, when their feeder is empty they don't hesitate to let me know. I'm glad to hear that there is the possibility that she will quiet down when she starts to lay. But since they are 2 months old today It will be a while. I will however be build a night pen for the "couple" on Monday or Tuesday. I'm hoping that if I pair them up separately from the others... -

I put mine outside in a secured shed at 2 weeks old and they did fine, just give them enough protection from wind and rain and they should be just fine. IMO they would be outside alot earlier than that if they were wild so why not in captivity. -

Well I only built the pen today. There is also chicken wire backing it the trellis, otherwise i'm not sure it would be strong enough. This just gives the 2 flocks a bit of privacy. -

good idea! I think I may start doing that. now could I "Cut" the grower with the layer feed that I have like 2/3 grower to 1/3 layer? or is that too much calcium for my ducks and geese? i have 2 full bags and the chickens could care less for it, and also don't want them just sitting around. -
