    Broody Buttons

No glass tanks, they're stressed by the reflections and lack of cover. Semi-clear bins OK, I used to make bin cages with wire fronts and tops and doors in front so I never had to feed from above. Hens will only go broody if they are not scared. Thick artificial plants, lots of hay, a parakeet...

He will not cool off - he is showing normal behavior that will be worsened if he is kept singly for any length of time.

HELP needed with breeding budgies( My budgies won't breed after many months!!!) Im dissapointed and exausted of waiting.

9-10 months is about as early as budgies may sometimes try to nest. 4-5 months, they are still immature and may still be in the juvenile molt.

Possible Cockatiel Mating? Birds are acting strange...

This is one of my pairs from 2016. They were both twelve months old when the photo was taken, fully molted into adult plumage and at complete physical growth. The babies were about ten days old, and they went on to have additional clutches, two or three a year. They lived in an aviary setting...

Possible Cockatiel Mating? Birds are acting strange...

Egg binding is due to poor diet (seed, no calcium supplementation) and a lack of muscle development in the female (caged or clipped wings) Cockatiels mature in under a year in the wild and breed the next wet season following their hatch year. My females began nesting before their first...

Possible Cockatiel Mating? Birds are acting strange...

15 months is definitely mature enough to breed. They are fully mature around nine months. I would not separate them or interrupt them!

Are there any Green Cheek Conure breeders in Alaska?

$800 is about the going rate here now for a green cheek conure. I've seen them go for $900. I don't believe anybody will ship to Alaska from the lower 48, the risks to the bird are too great.

2 week old baby finch keeps falling out of the nest - any suggestions?

14 is much too young to be out of the nests. Zebra finches usually leave around day 21.

What other birds can live with pair of budgies in same cage?

You can mix certain individual budgies with individuals of some other bird species in aviaries. Raising one baby budgie with another type of parrot usually works well as they will bond early on. There is no rule as to which bird species get along. Some will and some will kill each other.

Anyone need a pigeon in Burleson, TX?

Fancy pigeons make good pets while homers don't as a rule.

    Female? Mallards?

They won't lay because these are juvenile male mallards.

    Starlings

I would love a starling but I live by Chicago, so unless they were up to drive a long way i don't think it works. Starlings are wonderful pets.

Which parrot won't bite my ear?

Hand-raised female cockatiels or hand-raised male budgies are least likely to bite. Just about any other species will bite sometimes, or often.

Pair of ringneck doves of many years split (male chased away the female)

Ringneck doves are extremely territorial, and she will no longer be allowed in the territory. She has had to move on to find another place to live. As long as she could fly away, he wouldn't have killed her. That only happens in cages.
