Just wanted to share this published, peer reviewed article (which is supported by studies/research) and affiliated with UC Davis, a reputable source:

I just want to say that if a drug isn't specified to be safe for a particular species, you are at a...
Newer chicken owner here, and this is my first experience with lice. I plan to get the Poultry Dust and do all the ladies, but I was reading that a spray is more effective for the coop and nesting boxes. Is there a spray anyone would recommend?
Thanks!
I'm looking for just a handful of backyard chickens. I'd like at least 1 giant cochin, some silkies, and maybe a sizzle/frizzle. Anyone know where in California I can find older birds? I'd like them to be 3-5 months old so my chance of getting pullets is higher. Suggestions appreciated!
Hmm, mine are supposed to be silkies but both were called "partridge" according to the breeder. I'd never seen silkies with that color pattern, you think they're mixed with something? I mean it doesn't REALLY matter, but I'm just curious.
Do silkies typically lay eggs of a certain color? I'm a first time silkie owner and my hens just started laying--both layed eggs that are a very very light green color. Just wondering if that's expected/what other colors can be expected from silkies?
Thanks!
Thanks! I would NEVER hit any of my animals, I don't think that actually teaches them anything. I've been picking him up and trying to convince him that he likes me
Appreciate it! Esp because when you Google rooster training, all it has is how to train them to fight! So would picking him up and petting him when he does this be a bad idea? Can I kill it with kindness or does that reinforce the negative behavior?
My 5-ish month old Silkie roo stands up very straight and flaps his wings when I either come near him or "chick chick chick" at him. Wondering what this means? I assume he's trying to protect his lady friends from me, but hoping maybe it means he's happy to see me or something?
Thanks!
I'm planning to move and am in the process of looking for housing. We will be living in city limits, so I was wondering where I can look to find out whether or not chickens are allowed and how many.
Thanks!
It sounds like, based on what people were guessing my chicks are, that when the pom on their head looks round its typically a girl and if it slants backward it is likely a boy. SO, if that's true, I'd be your white is a girl . It actually looks a lot like mine except mine is partridge I think...
AAAAH! SO cute!!!
lol, my advice is: don't even BOTHER trying to sex them yet! you'll drive yourself nuts guessing (like i did). wait for an egg or a crow
Congrats and enjoy!!
