I just finished my first hatch in the incuview incubator and am ready to set a new set of eggs. When I plugged the incubator back in, it still says hatch day. How do I clear it out to start a new batch? Also, did anyone else notice that chicks hatch on day 1, and not on hatch day?
My incubator has not had one drop of water in it and the humidity has stayed steady between 60-70 percent. The air cells are still too small, and they go on lockdown on the 15th. I have never had this problem before. It's probably because we have had so much rain lately, but I will lose this...
Oh!! You are right. Thank you. I needed to bake a cake, so I only used my green and blue eggs. The green eggs appear white on the inside, but the membrane on it is so thick that the color of the shell doesn't actually come through. When I peeled back the membrane, the inside of the shell is...
I spent 2 hours combing through the olive Egger Thread that has over 9k responses and 900 PAGES and I couldn't find answers to my questions. It's all a little confusing to me. (Here is the link I searched through.... https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/131131/the-olive-egger-thread)

I have had one of the black copper marans chasing the girls around, and jumping on the backs of the pullets (that just layed their first egg 2 days ago), but I reallllllly did not think he was old enough to fertilize anything yet - ha ha. The egg that was fertilized came from a small bantam...
I did not think I had any roosters old enough to mate yet. All of my boys were hatched in 10/21. This egg sure looks fertilized to me, but I'm not quite sure.
OH yes!! :) That is what I initially was going by also, but then I read that speckled sussex tend to get very large combs very early on making it difficult to distinguish gender. I don't have another SS to compare it to. I started ignoring comb and started watching tail feathers. The...
These black Copper Marans are 1 week old. Number 2 is the smallest of them all, and has not started getting tail feathers like the other 4. They were ordered from My Pet Chicken as a straight run. I know it's super early, but would love any input on what I should be looking for.
