My silkie chicken hatched four eggs. All four are now five months old, and I have seen each one of them lower it's head, fluff out it's neck feathers, and fly at each other in rooster fights. Does that mean definitively that they are all boys? Do young hens ever show that kind of behavior? I...
My five little chickens. I bought day-old chicks based on breed looks and temperament. These chickens are pets, and I did have hopes of eating a few eggs. Since I think I have three roosters, that dream probably won't be quite as filling as I hoped!

All of my chickens are 13 wks. Am I right about the sexing I've guessed at so far? I will try to get a better pic of Rocky tomorrow. I have been looking but no eggs yet, that I can find. My Blue Marans Baby came from an Alabama breeder, who (I'm told) crossed a Copper Marans rooster...

Baby is the...

I bought 9 baby chicks from a local seller. 3 have died in less than two weeks. I had 2 Marans, 4 silkies (bantam), and 3 D'uccles (bantam). Two of the D'uccles have died and one of the silkies. One of the D'uccles, Digger, was the first to die; I think was 'pasted up.' Had runny bowels and...
