I am keeping 50 meat birds in my basement. The outside temp varies from 75 in the day to 50 at night. When should I move them outside? I am hoping it can be done at 2 weeks. I am gradually moving the heat lamp higher. They are 1 week old.

Lost one more yesterday. Took a fecal sample and it was full of capilliary (hair) worms. Treating everyone with fenbazole (safeguard goat wormer). Hope that does the trick.

About 10 of my hens are loosing feathers around the wings where they attach to the body and also at the base of the neck. Could this be from the roosters mounting them? Otherwise they appear healthy. Can anything be done about this? Thanks in advance.

I have about 25 chickens and 6 roosters. They are not fighting but my egg production has really suffered for the month since I got them. Do to many roos affect egg production? Thanks

Is there a way to tell when a hen is past her prime for laying eggs? I've got about 40 chickens so I can't tell which ones are still laying or not. I heard somewhere that you could feel around on their underside and tell, but I didn't get any specifics

I've had to keep my hens out of the chicken house for 3 days now and was unable to locate their clutch until this morning. Its been in the upper 80's here in SW VA....very hot. Are these eggs OK to eat?

I just got some chickens a few months ago and I'm getting bunches of eggs from my hens. I want to make some deviled eggs but the problem is, when after I boil them, I can't peel them. The skin sticks to the shell every time. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Squat

I'm considering getting some Muscovy ducks and I have a dumb question. Can you raise these with a plastic swimming pool? I don't have a pond or stream on the property.
