When my dogs get tartar build up, I take a teeny tiny flat screwdriver and take it off, it flakes off with very minimal pressure. Then I brush them and they're good as new!

My 5 have been chicken turd eaters for years..I wouldn't worry about it too much. They will eat their own too which is far grosser!

I know! I just about passed out!!! If it didn't cost so much to fix animals then maybe there wouldn't be such a big pet overpopulation.
