    Single duck independence

So I have a 5 week old cayuga girl, and I was wondering if she will become more independent as she gets older. I know ducks are flock animals and that I am her flock, but I'm just curious if she will feel any more secure with being by herself as she gets older. As it is right now shes very...

    Male vs female

lol well i have been going all over the place with the kind of duck i want... i'm usually pretty decisive. Its between a runner, a cayuga, or a welsh harlequin. I think the female harlequins are beautiful.

Ok last two questions before I order my ducks, and thank you everyone who has been helping me out. I was going to try and get two, but I found out that I'm only going to be allowed one duck. Now I do have a Fantastic kind hearted aussie who will be with the duck most of the time when i'm not...

Thanks everyone for your pictures and opinions;). Do the black always get the nice iridescent green sheen to them? Or is that just one in every couple that come out that pretty?

    Cayuga or runner as pet?

I'm not sure if getting two is really an option for me at the moment... but it might be. Anyway my thoughts had been to get a fun, loving pet as well as a companion for my pooch since he got along so well with the previous geese. If the duckling were to grow up with the dog would that serve as...

    Cayuga or runner as pet?

So I'm thinking of getting either a Cayuga or a chocolate runner as a pet, and I wanted some peoples opinions on which they thought would work better for my situation. I live in a large apartment in a shared house so I do need a quieter duck. I've read that males tend to be quieter. I live in...
