Great job! if the shell is still soft after about ten minutes I would start giving her some more oyster shells. Don't worry though, new layers are still working everything out!
Ok I think what happened is the chicks weren't able to get out of there shells and just suffocated. Next time I would suggest is open up the chicks air bubble a day after the first one, then wait another day so start helping them the rest of the way out.
1- I think you mean why do they cost different at different areas? cost depends on the seller, and the more demand they have they will rise the price and vise versa.

oh poor baby! Just stay with them and slowly introduce them together, give him one friend at a time and watch them and if the hen is getting to mean, take her out. hope this helps! <3
