What Breed should I pick
Forgot to mention, they did well in the above average summer temps this year in NC, they started laying a 4 months....all of them were laying at 5 months....- SuperChix

Silver laced Wyandotte, I bought my chicks last may....they are really awesome layers in the cold weather.... I would tell anyone to get these birds!- SuperChix

Parsnips
I grow parsnips in NC....and save my own seed....I'm germinating seeds now...I use a winter sown method....gallon milk jugs...remove the cap for air cut them in half all the way around to the handle leave the back area uncut so it works like a lid...punch a few holes in the bottom for... -

Forgot how good these were and easy to make, it was my Mother-in-law's Lillian, her Mother Sarah's recipe...Posted this here cause they taste so great with fresh fried eggs....made these this morning....Lillian was the most beautiful Christian lady and an awesome cook, just thought I would... -
Triple yolked eggs
Thumbs up to my SLW Fly Girl....5 months old and she gave me this egg yesterday...broke it open this am 3 yolks....she has been laying one or two double yolks a week for 3 weeks now.....I wondered what all the cackling was about.....- SuperChix

Looking for hatching eggs on the east coast (or close to SC)
I will take some current pictures of my Wyandottes today....they are 4.5 months old today....I am going to be shipping eggs...that is on the agenda or we are so close that pick up is available...mine are show stock and they are lovely, am so happy with them :)- SuperChix

One or two or three funny things your chickens did today.
Wow, chickens are pretty funny when they don't like something..my chickens hate cantaloupe also, I grow them as well as watermelon...they love the watermelon...oh and grated cucumbers....that's their favorite snack....- SuperChix

I totally agree, I have two flocks of SLW's. My 1st flock I purchased from a Hatchery and they are great eggs layers..but their lacing just didn't satisfy me, my daddy raised this breed when I was growing up and he showed his chickens....My 2nd flock that I bought from a private breeder are...- SuperChix
