i have a trio of silvers, with both of the hens setting on eggs right now. they should be hatching soon, within the next couple of days really. ill have to post some pictures of these awesome looking birds. they were born on feb. 14 of this year
last night in the rain and cold, something like a dog came through my chicken yard and tried to catch me bantam hen that had the chicks. the chicks have most of their feathers and can fly short distances. i heard them screeching last night and all i could find were 5 of them. i found 1 this...
yep biddie time is here. i just hatched off some lemon cuckoo orpington eggs and have a few chicks from them. also, im about to start incubating some grey call ducks.
they are doing good. they are really growing, and so far all 10 of them are still alive. i let her keep them to roam on the yard, and are already flying around like little quail lol. i can tell roosters from hens pretty much, and looks like at least 3-4 roosters and 6-7 hens.
today the hen and her new youngens are out and about in the chicken yard. shes introducing them to the rest of the world, but i dont think the cat we have had a happy greeting from the hen lol
im excited to see what colors they will make! theyre pretty bad, they have been crawling all over the hen, walking around through the fence where she can't go, etc. when its time to eat and she gives that cluck, they all come running lol
these are my Easter egger bantams. i know i put ameraucana but i was mistaken. yeah these chicks decided to come out and eat around a little bit, and from my understanding, this is her first group of babies. i dont know if she knows what she got herself into lol. also, the rooster in the picture...

10 out of 12 eggs have hatched. the other 2 were no good to begin with more than likely, but 12 eggs is quite a number for a bantam. ill get pictures tomorrow
