    Please help mosquito infestation

I sprayed the entire coop inside and out with permethrin and it made no difference except that they won’t land on the walls now. Still just as many 😠 I don’t know that it is a standing source of water attracting them I think they know the chickens are in there and swarm.

I will give Permethrin a try, I’m in Canada and strongest I can find is .35%. Also those Spartan tubes sound great but not available in Canada I’ll look for a suitable alternative.

Have not, I was on the fence about trying this. Would you recommend spraying the outside or inside?

    Please help mosquito infestation

I have a 12x12 chicken coop that was on the property I bought and I started raising chickens in it this year. I’m dealing with a real mosquito problem right now and am unsure what to think. If I go out to the coop at night there are thousands and thousands all over the walls. You can hear them...

    My chicken is screwed up!

Tonight I went out to put my 8 rhode island reds in for the night and I noticed only 7 up on the roost. Which was strange because it was pouring rain and there was thunder. Usually my birds go right for the coop when it rains real heavy. So after looking around for a while I found her quietly...

    Fish smelling eggs?

They eat wild grass and get tractor supply "rolling acres" layer feed. Thats it. I want to give eggs away to people but not if they smell like salmon when they are cooking. I know they are fresh but most people would smell that and throw them away. Finally eggs and now this!

    Fish smelling eggs?

When I cook the eggs from my rhode island reds they smell faintly fishy? They don't taste fishy they just smell it when they are cooking. Does anyone know why?

How long are they good for?

Say for example I left and egg in the corner of the coop and didn't pick it up how long would it be good for without being refrigerated? 1 day? 2 days? I know I can put them in water and see if they float or not but rather than doing an experiment I wanted to ask if any of you guys know. thanks!

    Can chickens eat snow?

Quote: Are you kidding me? In your mind this is not a legitimate question? I don't need wise ass responses I'm looking for away around a problem I'm foreseeing in the future...a poor animal owner would wait til winter and then be stuck with freezing chickens. It is mid august and I'm already...

    Can chickens eat snow?

At the most I can get out there once a day. So if I bring them warm water and they all get a good drink will that be sufficient? I'm told by all the local chicken owners that they do not drink much in the winter.
