Omg I can’t believe we didn’t think about the temp housing being here 😆 that’s so much easier.
no worries they will be safe. My husband built the coop/run so we can easily cut it in half for moving and it’ll be set up by end of day. But at least at the current house we have tall Fences and more...
So we have 5 hens and a large coop and run. We just bought some land 20 minutes away and will be moving everyone there. Any tips or anything on doing this? We think we are just going to build a temporary run for them to live in while we take down their coop and move it.
So these are my friends, she got them under Polish but the one has 5 toes and white legs and beak. The other doesn’t have the feathers on top like her other polish.
You need advice yet you aren’t listening to it. How many times do you have to be told these chickens and the coop should just go back and you start all this when your on your own?
on top of everything you are leaving for 3 weeks already leavi your parents essentially in charge.
ok so this might be a big reason for why they aren’t so excited. You just said that you’ll be leaving it all for them to deal with. I really think the best thing to do is hold off on chickens until you are on your own
I get it,I really do! I fought my hardest to get a dog but sadly never got one until I was an adult on my own. Now that I’m way older I do get where my parents were coming from, chickens/pets take a lot of work.
I am glad thought that I’ve done both while on my own as an adult since basically...
I saw they asked questions but it was about bantums.
blackcat, I know your young and afraid of having this turn out bad. Maybe it’s best if you DO wait until you can drive and do things in your own for chickens. I am curious, in 3 months you give these chickens(and the coop?) up? What then?
i Really feel like you jumped into this head first and are just scrambling. That feeder is for chicks and I doubt it can even hold enough for 4 full grown hens. On top of that you don’t have enough space in either the coop or the run for the hens you do have. you Really should call the “chicken...
So about 3(4 maybe?) weeks ago I introduce my Easter Egger girls to my Wyandotte’s. 5 week age difference.
since then everything has been good I think lol while they aren’t bffs there have been no feathers picked or bloodshed. Both groups kind of stick to their own in the coop and run. However I...
I was holding my breath when u opened the coop this morning lol always expecting the worst, ya know?
should I shut the coop from them if they don’t start coming out more or just let them do things their way?
Thank you so much for the reply! This morning everyone is fine, the eggers came out for a bit and went back up to the coop. The Wyandotte’s are just chilling in their normal spot for this time. They don’t seem to care at all there are 3 newbies around.
I posted a few days ago about moving my 3 Easter eggers into the run so my Wyandotte’s and them could get used to each other. There wasn’t Much noise or any issues so yesterday I let them all together.
The wyandottes are doing their regular routine, while keep going to the eggers to check them...
Thanks so much for the info! Ive been reading like crazy how to do this since the Easter eggers came home 😆
the Wyandotte’s, while curious are mostly going about their normal routine in the run and occasionally checking in on the newbies. It was a bit sad when the they went up to the coop last...
