Is it just me or is it a Bit early my rooster is
A 6 week old white leghorn he's crowing
Quite well and demonstrating mating behavior
and when I enter the coop he won't let me
Near the others! THIS LITTLE GUY is a riot
Keep trying to catch crow on video! He's so
Tiny
Its really totally up to the hen to go
Broody you could try putting a few
Of those fake eggs in a nesting box
To see there supposed to keep chickens
From eating eggs and stop hens from laying
Eggs on the ground ,but a friend says it made
Her hen broody
Those darn roosters! Always trouble!
Sorry you couldn't save her ,you've done a lot
More than most, good luck with the next!
Cuz you know there will be more!
Hey I'm in NH too! And I found its more complicated
To bother making sex linked chicks I just cull or
Grow to eat at least it gives me a chance to
See if any of the roosters are of good quality
Oh and I'm up North Conway area
And you have a cream legbar roo and no hen?(bummer)
I'm dying to...
Holy chicken poop so let me get this straight
Ee+ ee = lmnop barred + blue = ~%€€£his:)!
I'm way to Italian yo vinnie I think we got
A chick here! Lol thanks y'all doing my best
To understand this genetics thing whoooa
Pretty intense I think I'll stick with true breeding
For my Marans out of 40...
Thanks for the input genetics isn't my
Forte lol but I got some really cool chickens
And basket colors just wanna keep the ones
I have going forever and as far as crossing
Marans ill just keep them apart!
BYC people rock!
Ok here's my question I have hen and roo
Pairs 2 Easter eggers 2 olive eggers
Will the chicks continue with egg color
And the big question I also have mating
Pairs of French black copper Marans and
Cuckoo Marans I was told If I mate black copper
Roo to cuckoo hen I will get a mix of black
Blue...
Oh and as far as rooster to hen ratio I'm not sure
But my two roosters seem to be one chick
Sorta men the each have their own lady
And don't seem to care too much about the
Other 20 hens around them they take particularly
Good care of those 2 and ignore the rest
Mabee it's just mine

I add new chickens all the time the best way
I found is a split coop basically divide coop
With chicken wire so they get used to each other
After A couple weeks I put them together there's a
Little pecking order adjustments but not to the point
Of injury as far as multiple roosters my black...
Sorry I'm learning my way through this chicken
Stuff too... I would refer back to bantamlover's
Post he or she sounds chicken educated lol
Good luck wish I could be more help
So the thinner leg has better grip mabee
Leg injury?on fatter leg(swelling) If so a splint can be made with self
Cling ace bandage material specially designed
For animals like for wrapping the ankle of a horse
It's available at tractor supply or at your local grain store
Hope it helps
Unfortunately everyone loves chicken !
Here in the white mountains of New Hampshire
We have it all bears being the worst ! They will
Peel the roof of a coop drop their cubs in and well
A feeling of horror in the morning ....... Clean up
And start all over but with that aside some of the things...
