    Looking for a pilgrim gander

We hatched five geese and no gander, and now it appears every place is sold out for the season. Willing to arrange travel for a significant distance, so Dakotas, MN and Iowa, maybe Nebraska all interesting. Might trade a female for a male if someone is intersted. Thanks for looking.

    Pilgrims Pipping!!!

All eggs hatched succesfully. I am a little disappointed that the sexing did not appear to work in this breeding, unless they are all female. One is distictly lighter, but not like I expected at all. Looks like these may not be great breeders, but they will get us a start. Tom

    Pilgrims Pipping!!!

We ended up needing to help some. I think the humidity was just a touch low. Of the five that developed, we have 4 that are out and really good, and one that may have been helped a little too much. Still moving, but not very vigorous. It is so hard to figure when to help. Anyway, they are...

dos and don'ts for goose egg incubation

I followed the above program basically exactly and we are in the middle of the hatch as I type. We bought 8 pilgrim eggs on ebay. 5 developed, and we have hatched three and the other two have pipped. The eggs were a little dirty and we did not clean them. We did have a little trouble getting...

I now have three pipped and all making noise. Humidity reads 80 percent, I just committed a sin and opened the...

Does hatching time vary by breed???

I have about 35 eggs in the bator (first hatch in a homemade incubator). 10 mailed jersey giants, 8 cuckoo marans from the same party, and the rest mutts from my barn. We are at exactly 21 days right now. The first of the Jerseys hatched last night about 1am, Then a trickle more through the...
