    Unknown Bulge below neck

    Hi everyone. My 6 month old Barred Rock Hen has this lump under her neck and was wondering if anybody knew what it was and how to take care of it. She continues to lay, eat, and drink. It doesn't seem to hurt her only when I squeeze kinda hard. Any input is appreciated. Thank you!

    I keep reading about DLM and is not 100% sure of the exact technique. Could anyone give me an example or a list of what the DLM is and how it's used in the coop? I would be using shavings.

    Is it necessary to have crushed oysters shells for my layers? If so where do i get them? Also, if they are in a 25 by 36 run with weeds, worms, dirt, rocks, pebbles etc. is it necessary to have grit in their diets? Layer Hens for selling eggs not meat or chick production

    I have my coop on a concrete slab and planned on laying shavings down over the top... Are shavings the best bedding? Should I put a layer of dirt on the concrete then the shavings? Should I not use the shavings at all and use straw? Help please :)
