I candle at 7, 14 and 18 but sometimes I just can't resist and check on day 5 on 1 or 2 of the eggs. I love this ladies' website for hatching. It reminds me of that book, "What to Expect when your Expecting". She goes through each day of the hatch and what's going on inside the egg on that day...

I'm really interested in the answer for size to buy. Can people just post what sizes they bought for different breeds of chickens?

Thank you! I wrapped a blanket around mine this time and the humidity is staying pretty steady now. I made sure not to cover the vent holes in the top. Do you remove those rubber vent plugs at lockdown?

I have 2 of these with the clear bottoms and so far I love them! Running my 5th hatch right now with some choc orps in one. Is there any way you could take a picture of the metal blades you attached to the turner?

Those look good. Are they darker eggs? That could be why it is hard to see if there is any veining or not. Also, did you mark the air cell growth from day 7 to day 10?

This thread has helped me so much with my first hatch!! Now, onto my second hatch....I'm officially addicted...lol

Here's the front of the egglet. Should I be able to see her yolk or anything like that? She's drinking water droplets when it can find them and I don't see anything on her belly that still needs to be absorbed. I would hate to not ask and have it die during the night because I should have taken...
