Thanks. I know there are many names for production birds depending on the breeder. I was just hoping someone might know of differences that could tell me more specifically what they might be. Like the red one, for example. RIR? Production Red? What? Not asking you to answer that; just explaining...
So, it doesn't matter to me what they are. My chickens are pets. But I do like being able to tell people what their breed is when they ask. So there's only about a hundred production birds that look the same. I'm just curious what these girls actually are. So far I just say they're red and gold...
Sorry, I'm getting them mixed up. I think she's supposed to be red laced white, not white laced red. Her feathers have red "lacing" on the white, not white lacing on red base. But it's not really laced like it should be if that's what she is.
Please read the post before just posting whatever you feel like. I do not need guesses on gender. I know that already. What I can't figure out is what BREED. Bantam from Ideal Poultry; pea comb. My only guess at this point is cornish bantam, with the short, fat stature. But the color doesn't...
Don't think it's possible to "preserve" grass, and they probably wouldn't like dried grass. But you can do sprouted grains for them:

I believe I may have some B complex vitamins that I got a while back for some ducks I was hatching out for someone, in case they developed a deficiency before they were picked up after hatching.
Thank you for the reply!
I have no way to get any vitamins or minerals right now. No money, and it's at least 90 miles to the closest store that would have any. Only thing I can try right now is shoes. Just didn't want to stress the chick out with them if it wouldn't do any good.
Here's her...
Picked up some chicks from a feed store yesterday. The standard size chicks were already 2-3 weeks old, and it seems the only Barred Rock they had left has curled toes (she was free because of this). I was wondering if it is still possible to correct this? I couldn't even tell she had curled...
Does anyone have an assortment of purebred bantam hatching eggs for sale? Even though my usual hatchery has had chicks this time of year in the past, and say they hatch 52 weeks per year, they will not have any until February, and I'd like to get started ASAP. Mainly because I'm going insane...
There is absolutely nothing wrong with hatching pullet eggs, and you will NOT get weaker chicks from it, nor smaller birds as adults.
Three years ago I hatched pullet eggs from my Silkies and Delaware. All babies hatched (which was actually 99% hatch rate and fertility) are still alive today...
