    Chantecler Thread!

Does anyone have weights for their partridge chanteclers at different ages that you could post here? I am wondering how the stock I sourced compares. I have previously breed New hampshires and they are excellent birds but roos frost bite combs in my Canadian winters. My 13 week cockerel blue...

    Partridge Chantecler hatching eggs

I am looking for 12-48 partridge Chantecler hatching eggs. I want good quality utility lines. I will be passing through Minnesota and Iowa on the way to Missouri the end of June beginning of July. Eggs would have to meet me on the way back from our trip. I am willing to pay extra for delivery to...

Chantecler Breeder and Owner Database Project

I have 27 Partridge Chantecler, here in NW Ontario. I got mine from Sherry Fensom (Saskatchewan) and Cody Renz (manitoba). I hatched shipped eggs from them. I am looking for another source of partridge chantecler so I can keep 3 distinct lines. Plan to breed for quality utility lines. Good egg...

Sustainable Meat / Standard Bred Dual Purpose Bird Thread.

I have new Hampshires and while they are fast growing unfortunately they can't handle the cold here. This winter was mild with only -35 but still the roosters combs froze. I am raising Partridge Chantecler currently to replace them and hoping to breed a good line of dual purpose egg/meat birds...

    The Trap Nesting Thread

I just realized I forgot to post the trap nest door measurements on my "scribe fit" coop page. I just added the measurements with suggestions for a couple of minor changes.

    The Trap Nesting Thread

I don't have plans as such, but if you follow the pictures and dimensions listed you should be fine. I guess I'm not really a blue print type of guy as I always modify things to suit my needs. The only thing I have changed to the pictures and dimensions I listed is I ended up screwing on the...

    Auto sexing chanteclers?

I live where winter is half the season (northern Ontario) and have set my mind on chanteclers. I currently have New hampshires, Wyandottes, and Jersey Giants. Also have experience with hybrids but don't want to go that route as I want my flock to breed true. I want a practical utility breed that...

Review by '' on item 'Wyandotte'

They have been an ok bird. Not bad not great either, although I have hatchery stock. With some work will improve in a few years. Medium maturity although one pullet was first to lay in the mixed flock. Not impressed with amount of meat the excess roos had on them but they were hatchery stock.
